Co-Designers of Learning in Public Schools

Covid-19 has caused disruptions throughout the public schooling system. The impact of this disruption on Black children can be found in the widening opportunity gaps in literacy and numeracy. These gaps illuminate both the historical and current inability of public schooling systems to meet Black kids at their dreams or academic need. The acknowledgement of the aforementioned calls for a transformation of how public-school systems design learning for Black children.

Community Advocate of the Year Award Speech

In 2019, I was awarded the 2018 Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh's Community Award for my literacy work in libraries throughout the city.
