Learning Labs

Reading Lab

Structured learning experience where children learn one on one with an adult. These sessions are scheduled opportunities for children to learn the basic literacy skills. It is also an opportunity for children to work on their literacy barriers.

Length: 20-30 minutes

Dream Lab

Small Groups sessions is an opportunity for a group of 4 to 5 children to read a book based on their common dreams or interests. During these sessions, students are supported in the reading process and facilitate dialogue about the books.

Parent Lab

Parent Labs are interactive sessions when parents and children convene to co-create literacy tools, which will be used in the home. The purpose of creating these tools is to support parents’ children in creating a reading culture within the home environment. The labs also offer parents an opportunity to learn about innovative educational approaches used in the organization.

Length: 45-90 minutes

Meet-Up Read-Up

“Meet-Up Read-Up” are thematically organized story time events for families with children from ages 3 to 9 years of age.

Length: 30-45 minutes
